An American Wind (Working Title) Chapter 1

The experience of being with a mate that would not stop wondering, and looking for a reason behind every reason had shown me that talking it out is not always a good method. This is merely what creatively came out of the frustration of too much talk, at least about myself.

Jessie Smith sank back into the comfort of the smooth, black leather chair on which she had been perched, her perfectly manicured hands rested on the cool, wooden boardroom table. A smug smile of satisfaction spread over her expertly made up face as a feeling of relief washed over her.

Found some sketchings for this short story in an old notebook. Can’t remember now what inspired me at the time, but thought it worth completing.

I don’t know what inspired me to write this. It just popped into my head in the middle of the night, and had to be written.

This story is based on my step granddaughter, who is disabled and autistic.

I loved to go fishing with my dear husband. I was widowed over thirteen years ago but often
remember our happy times down the fishing lake.

I wanted to write a story of romance and include an outdoor setting.

A mishap that could happen to anyone.

I love horse shows and used my childhood memories to re-count a day of fun as
a twelve year old with my friend.

I had to write an assignment for my writing course and chose to do a re-write of the fairy tale.

I wrote the story in the present day and tried to make it humorous.
